Reflexology is an ancient, gentle, non-invasive and totally holistic
therapy. It is based on the principle that there are reflexes in the
feet, hands, face and ears that correspond to every organ, gland and
part of the body.
There are around 72,000 nerve endings in the feet, coming from all
areas of the body and thousands of years ago it was realized that
by manipulating certain areas on the feet can alleviate conditions
in the body.
Reflexology is a whole-body treatment and not just a foot massage.
The reflexology assessment takes place as stress cues are evaluated.
Stress cues are parts of the foot or hand that show adaptation to stress,
shown as visual signs such as callousing, knobby toes or bunions for
example. Indications of stress are also seen as sensitivity to touch.
This assessment allows the reflexologist to target specific areas on
the feet or hand and to design a unique treatment, exclusive to the
needs of the individual. It is a very relaxing therapy that relieves
stress and tension, improves blood and lymph circulation, detoxifies
the body, revitalizes energy and strengthens the immune system. Reflexology
is suitable for all ages.

The aim of the reflexologist
is to treat the whole person, body, mind and spirit, to help induce
a state of balance and harmony. Stimulating the body's own potential
to heal itself, whilst maintaining health and improving physical
for the number of treatments are based on individual requirements
and will vary, however, it is usual practice to have
6 - 8 (one per week), followed by one each month to stimulate the
immune system and maintain wellbeing.
A one-off treatment is,
of course, perfect for relaxation and stress relief.

As a complement to medical care, reflexology has been successful
in relieving many acute and chronic conditions, such as:
- menstrual problems
- pain reduction
- post-traumatic stress disorder
A reflexologist cannot diagnosis or prescribe, they work alongside
the medical profession. You should seek medical help if you have
an urgent or acute problem.
Nikki looks forward to helping you relax, de-stress, maintain and
improve your health and wellbeing. :)
